.Jesi James is a New York–bred artist whose sound has never lived in one box. Beginning as a singer, he earned a scholarship to study jazz at The New School before establishing himself in hip-hop as a member of the tri-state rap group Koolweirdos, whose journey included a record deal with Universal.
After years of sharpening his identity as a rapper, songwriter and performer, Jesi has returned to the vocal foundation where his story began. His recent music blends classic R&B and melodic songwriting with hip-hop, while reconnecting with his Haitian roots through kompa and gouyad-inspired records that have introduced a new energy to his catalog.
Today, Jesi James represents the full evolution — singer, rapper and songwriter — bringing New York grit, Caribbean culture and real musicianship into one sound.
